*About the Book*

The shine a light series books are incredible and tons of fun. Sercet of Animal Camouflage is full of knowledge on every page. The facts of the animals are fascinating. The color on the pages are vibrant and try to make you think where the animal is hiding. After you read the clues, you put a flashlight or hold it up to the light to see how the animal is camouflaging against nature. Once you’re done, look on the back for more facts on the animal’s reason for hiding. The animals your kid(s) and you look for are White-banded Crab Spiders, Long Leggy Walking Stick, Bengal Tiger, Owl, Fawn, Mommy Giraffe, Owl Butterfly, Orchid Mantis, Horned Frogs, Chameleon, Zebras, Arctic Fox, Blue-Ringed Octopus, Seahorses, and Beady-Eyed Flatfish. On the last two pages, you will find more facts about all sixteen animals.

Kids will love trying to find the animals then shining the light behind the pages. They will learn about camouflage and why each animal has a mask of protection or cleverness for its prey. It will help them under the differences as well. But let’s be real, the flashlight will be the best part of the book for kids. They will have fun with shining it behind the pages. It’s also a kind of book kids can do on their own with a flashlight and see if they can guess which animal is hiding.

As a parent, you love how the book is teaching your kid(s) about camouflage. You will also find yourself learning a few fats about the animals in the book. The flashlight ideas will blow your mind because of how incredible it is and teaching your kid(s).

*How My Daughter Reacts*

My daughter once again proves the age limit of books is an understatement because she’s three years old and has learned so much from this book. She is obsessed with camouflage now. She ever made up a game called, camouflage hiding. It’s pretty much hide and seek, but instead of counting you say, “Ready, Set, Camouflage.” My daughter also loves better nag in control of the flashlight when we read the book. She also tries naming the animals hiding. She got the book for Easter and has all of the animals down.

The book amazes me because it’s unbelievable how much both of us have learned about camouflage. I love children’s books that I can learn from as well because it’s less replicate for me. Some books just get annoying after awhile, but this is most definitely not one of them for me. I even find myself being fantasied by the flashlight idea because it’s a very unique and fun way of learning. I’m looking forward for getting more from the Shine – A – Light series.

What a clever book! Though I can say with absolute certainty that my son will take the flashlight, lose it, and we will then spend the next week looking for it. But, maybe if he finally leaves his space obsession and discovers animals I’ll give this a try on him.
